Values discovery in owner-led businesses is not a democratic process. The values of the business should be as closely aligned with the owner’s as possible.

These values then become an invitation for the team to find alignment.

An action I’m taking

When next you feel caught up in difficult or unhelpful thoughts, try this.

Simply say to yourself: I notice I’m thinking… [your thought]

Same for emotions: I notice I’m feeling… [your emotion]

This simple technique can assist us to unhook from unhelpful patterns by creating extra space.

Then we can focus on the choice at hand.
