Hi there,

Happy Monday!

Here’s your weekly dose of The Monday 3: a quote, an insight and an action I’m taking.

With love,

Toby

A quote I’m pondering

Think of yourself in a concert hall listening to the strains of the sweetest music when you suddenly remember that you forgot to lock your car. You are anxious about the car, you cannot walk out of the hall and you cannot enjoy the music. There you have a perfect image of life as it is lived by most human beings.

An insight

I’ve been trying to teach my daughters to surf for years and they’ve made some progress.

But on the holidays I enrolled them in Surf Camp Down Under in Yamba with Shayne – a coach I’ve used myself. He’s coached more than 20,000 people and in 3 sessions in 3 days made progress with my girls that would have taken me many more years.

Seems obvious in hindsight, but the messenger matters. You can try to teach all you like, but sometimes it’s worth investing in other voices.

An action I’m taking

We surprised our daughters with a new puppy. There were tears and laughter.

Their reactions: “I just died.” “My lungs are full of love hearts.” “Every single one of my cells is exploding.”

I can’t put a price on those.

Is there one of these that really stood out for you? I’d love to hear your thoughts or suggestions, whether that’s a favourite quote or something else.

I hope you have a great week ahead.

With love,

Toby
