An insight
I have witnessed the power of pain transformed into purpose. A great mate of mine used his experience of living on the streets as a kid to raise $180k for homelessness in a single afternoon at his charity lunch.
If you are looking for purpose, find your deepest pain and then commit to finding ways to alleviate or prevent it for other people.
An action I’m taking
I’m using Dr Andrew Weil’s 4-7-8 breath pattern for the first 20 breaths of my day and if I wake at night. It’s based on pranayama yogic breathing techniques that can help manage stress, calm the central nervous system and promote sleep.
With the tip of your tongue gently pressed against the tissue behind your front teeth, breathe in for 4, hold that breath for 7, and then exhale for 8 making a quiet “whoosh” sound.
