Hi there,
Happy Monday!
Here’s your weekly dose of The Monday 3: a quote, an insight and an action I’m taking.
With love,
Toby

A quote I’m pondering
The old Master points to a big boulder and asks a disciple, “See that large rock over there?”
“Yes,” says the disciple.
“Do you think it’s heavy?” continues the Master.
“Yes, it’s very heavy!” replies the student.
“Only if you pick it up,” smiles the Master.

An insight
While it’s all well and good to set lofty goals, it is the tiny choices we make that will lead us to the change and the outcome.
If we set the bar too high, we can set ourselves up to fail and get discouraged.
Instead ask yourself: “How could I lower the bar here?”
Want to get fitter? Walk for 5 mins.
Want to sell out an event? Send just 1 outreach email.
Want a better relationship? Send a voice note.
Try setting the bar so low you cannot fail, then use the momentum created by tiny wins to build the consistency that will make the outcome inevitable.
An action I’m taking
On my drive to work, rather than taking the fastest way there, I’m choosing to take a few extra minutes for a more beautiful, tree-lined drive.
I like to think of this as optimising for beauty.

Is there one of these that really stood out for you? I’d love to hear your thoughts or suggestions whether that’s a favourite quote or something else.
I hope you have a great week ahead.

Toby
