Hi there,

Happy Monday!

Here’s your weekly dose of The Monday 3: a quote, an insight and an action I’m taking.

With love,

Toby

A quote I’m pondering

For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.

HL Mencken – journalist, satirist and critic

An insight

The world is full of “competitions” for money, results, fame, influence and more.

Comparison can put people up on a pedestal or diminish them. There is a tendency for new data to feed our ranking system – they’re better/worse or have more/less.

Instead, what if we were to revere the effort, the outcome, the failings, the price that has been paid, the journey, the gift that has been given?

Perhaps then we could appreciate and acknowledge our shared humanity.

Are you ranking or revering?

An action I’m taking

I’m reframing night-time wake ups as the body releasing energy/stress/pressure from the day rather than an enemy to defeat or a problem to solve.

Is there one of these that really stood out for you? I’d love to hear your thoughts or suggestions whether that’s a favourite quote or something else.

I hope you have a great week ahead.

With love,

Toby
