Hi there,
Happy Monday!
Here’s your weekly dose of The Monday 3: a quote, an insight and an action I’m taking.
__
A quote I’m pondering
the sense of having walked from far inside yourself
out into the revelation, to have risked yourself
for something that seemed to stand both inside you
and far beyond you, that called you back
From Santiago by David Whyte (1 min read – it’s beautiful.)
An insight
If your child or your best friend was hurt, upset, sad, tired, angry, frustrated, afraid, feeling like an imposter or worried, how would you treat them?
When these show up, how do you treat yourself?
Imagine if, in those moments, we treated ourselves as we would treat the people we love.
This is self-compassion.
An action I’m taking
When the 3am worry starts, I’m physically moving my arms into the same position that I would if my child was upset and had come into me in the night. Rather than trying to get rid of or fight or avoid, my practice here is to accept what I’m feeling and bring it in closer.

Is there one of these that really stood out for you? I’d love to hear your thoughts or suggestions whether that’s a favourite quote or something else.
I hope you have a great week ahead.
With love,
Toby
