Hi there,
Happy Monday!
It was another incredible experience last week with the Vinnies’ CEO Sleepout to raise money and awareness for homelessness. Vinnies did an amazing job of the education and set up. Here are a a few of my photos.
You helped me raise over $8k individually, the event in QLD nearly $1.8M, and $7.8M nationally! Incredible. (Donations are still open here.)
I can’t thank you all enough. You’re the best.
Here’s your weekly dose of The Monday 3: a quote, an insight and an action I’m taking.

A quote I’m pondering
Time is the least thing we have of.
Ernest Hemingway
An insight
The 5 Love Languages: The secret to love that lasts by Dr Gary Chapman has sold over 20 million copies.
The five languages are: Words of affirmation, Physical touch, Acts of service, Quality time and Receiving gifts.
The key insight is that we each want to give and receive love in different ways. The problem lies in assuming that others want to love and be loved in the same way.
Instead, if we can understand our own and others’ preferences, then we have a better chance of filling our own and others’ “love tanks”.
You can uncover your own here: https://5lovelanguages.com/quizzes/love-language
An action I’m taking
I explored my two elder daughters’ love languages (from The 5 Love Languages by Dr Gary Chapman) by asking them to put these options into a hierarchy.
Which of these would you prefer? Me telling you I love you; me giving you a hug; me bringing home a small present for you; me making your bed for you; me taking you for a 1:1 walk.
Despite growing up in the same house, their answers were different and definitely help to inform which activities I’ll prioritise with them moving forward.

Is there one of these that really stood out for you? I’d love to hear your thoughts or suggestions whether that’s a favourite quote or something else.
I hope you have a great week ahead.
With love,
Toby
