Hi there,
Happy Monday!
Here’s your weekly dose of The Monday 3: a quote, an insight and an action I’m taking.
With love,

A quote I’m pondering
The elimination of the fear of death transforms the individual’s way of being in the world.
Stanislav Grof MD – Czech American psychiatrist, developer of transpersonal psychology and holotropic breathwork
An insight
The instruction was to double the business this year, then double it again the next year and then double it again the following.
The immediate question in my mind was why? Why is this doubling important? What meaning does it create? What impact will it have?
Goals for goals’ sake can be exhausting and a symptom of an identity problem – a signal of lack of clarity of purpose. It can feel like an owner or leader is simply hoping that the challenge of growth will fill a void they don’t otherwise know how to fill.
It’s not that the goals are wrong, but when they can be aligned with a long game and an impact in the world, then the energy shifts from rudderless to purposeful.
An action I’m taking
In my speaking and workshops, I’m working to find stories I can relive rather than retell.
I know when I’m reliving a story because I’m telling it in first person present tense. In my mind I’m transported back to the moment and immersed in it. I’m describing what I can see, feel, touch, taste and hear.

Is there one of these that really stood out for you? I’d love to hear your thoughts or suggestions whether that’s a favourite quote or something else.
I hope you have a great week ahead.
With love,
Toby
