Hi there,
Happy Monday!
Here’s your weekly dose of The Monday 3: a quote, an insight and an action I’m taking.
__
A quote I’m pondering
I want to risk hitting my head on the ceiling of my talent. I want to really test it out and say, ‘Okay, you’re not that good. You just reached the level here. ‘ I don’t ever want to fail, but I want to risk failure every time out of the gate.

An insight
If we would like to be more present, then every moment provides an opportunity to practice being present by connecting through our senses.
If we are striving to live life true to our values, then every moment provides an opportunity to express them regardless of what is coming at us from the outside world (or from our inside world).
If we would like to be healthier, improve relationships, do better work, then we can’t afford to wait for some mythical ideal time to start.
The only perfect time is right now.
An action I’m taking
As humans we’re not particularly good at compartmentalising our lives. I feel I’ve been reasonably effective at managing stress at work but inevitably it bleeds out into home life.
I’m not alone as a parent in wanting to be present with my family but struggling with it at times. Physical pain or irritation from old injuries becomes a distraction for me too and I find myself withdrawing or reaching for sugar hits.
I’m experimenting with switching reward mechanisms to focus on dialling up self-compassion through meditation, exercise, naps, breathwork etc. It’ll come with some guilt, so I’ll have to accept that and communicate to find alignment of time and space too.

Is there one of these that really stood out for you? I’d love to hear your thoughts or suggestions whether that’s a favourite quote or something else.
I hope you have a great week ahead.
With love,
Toby
