Hi there,
Happy Monday!
Here’s your weekly dose of The Monday 3: a quote, an insight and an action I’m taking.

A quote I’m pondering
To be courageous is not necessarily to go anywhere or do anything except to make conscious those things we already feel deeply and then to live through the unending vulnerabilities of those consequences.
To be courageous is to seat our feelings deeply in the body and in the world: to live up to and into the necessities of relationships that often already exist, with things we find we already care deeply about: with a person, a future, a possibility in society, or with an unknown that begs us on and always has begged us on.
To be courageous is to stay close to the way we are made.

An insight
Speaking to a business transformation expert, I was fascinated to hear them describe process as the interface between leadership (values, culture, strategy) and management (structure and people).
As we worked through it, I realised that the role I love to play is to support the people (owners, executives or teams) manage themselves through those periods of growth and change.
An action I’m taking
I’m loving the challenge of coaching my daughters’ junior water polo. It’s the first time back poolside like this in decades.
For me it comes down to developing an environment of fun, learning and respect.
Establishing values, driving player ownership, using real-time specific feedback, enshrining planning and reflective practices at the start and end of sessions, having a singular focus for practice and finding ways to accelerate the reps required to move from technique to skill to mastery… There’s so much that can go into it.
And I’m finding much of that depends on the questions I ask.

Is there one of these that really stood out for you? I’d love to hear your thoughts or suggestions whether that’s a favourite quote or something else.
I hope you have a great week ahead.
With love,
Toby
