Hi there,

Happy Monday!

Here’s your weekly dose of The Monday 3: a quote, an insight and an action I’m taking.

A quote I’m pondering

If you want to master something, teach it.

Richard Feynmann – Nobel Prize winning physicist

An insight

Sometimes it can feel like we’ve had enough of life’s lessons, the discomfort, the frustration, the external challenge. We wish they could stop.

But it doesn’t take too much of a pause to realise the futility of those wishes.

Rather than fighting these experiences or bunkering down, an alternative path is to make room for them. To accept them as a part of who we are and the life we live.

To recognise that this is the price of caring about our work, our relationships, our health. To recognise that, even when we’re feeling knocked down by these experiences, that it’s too important not to get back up – for ourselves, for our loved ones, for the communities we serve.

And while we are guaranteed to fail from time to time, self compassion in these moments or in the aftermath, is a practice that can help us keep showing up.

An action I’m taking

I spent most of last week with fevers courtesy of a tiny bite on my back that I hadn’t realised was a tick. It was an infected little critter carrying Qld Tick Typhus. It was a rough week.

So I’m pretty excited about my latest purchase that might help next time – a Tick Key tick remover…

Is there one of these that really stood out for you? I’d love to hear your thoughts or suggestions whether that’s a favourite quote or something else.

I hope you have a great week ahead.

With love,

Toby
