The Monday 3: Intolerable Uncertainty; Finding Momentum; Listen To Your Heart

Hi there,

Happy Monday!

Here is your weekly dose of The Monday 3: a quote, an insight and an action I’m taking from the last week.

I’d love you to share this with one person who might find it useful.

+++++++++++++

A quote I’m pondering

“The only thing that makes life possible is permanent, intolerable uncertainty: not knowing what comes next.”

Ursula K. Le Guin – American novelist and first female author to win both the Hugo and Nebula Awards for science fiction.

[Hat tip to my amazing prioritisation coach Ferzeen Anis for this one.]

An insight from conversation

If we are waiting for a sense of momentum before we get started, we’re focussing in the wrong place. Momentum can be found (and built) by clarifying what to do next and taking action. It is an output rather than an input.

An action I’m taking

A few times each day with clients and on my own, I practice Dr Andrew Weill’s 4-7-8 breath (breathe in for four counts, hold the breath for 7 and breathe out for 8).

This last week, as I’ve been going through it, I’ve been listening to my heart beat as the counter. Our heart beat is always there, but how often do we pay attention to it?

The Roxette 80s anthem also happened to be my first ever cassingle. Still one of my faves.

++++++++++

Is there one of these that really stood out for you? I’d love to hear your thoughts or suggestions too.

I hope you have a great week ahead.

With love,

Toby
